The SVU Connection

Law & Order: SVU Trivia

Episode Issues:
In the episode, Wanderlust, there a is scene when Benson and Stabler are walking and talking outside and people can be heard in the background yelling, "Hey! They're on TV!"
In the opening scene of Disrobed, Munch reaches into the victim's car and pulls a gun holster out of the car, however, he is not wearing latex gloves. Detectives would never touch any evidence from a crime scene without wearing gloves.
Continuity with the Law & Order universe:
In the episode, Monogamy, Stabler mentions that they cannot charge the suspect with anything more than an illegal third trimester abortion because the detectives are unable to prove that the child in question was born alive. However, this fact had been established in the Law & Order episode, Misconception, in which it is stated that an individual could be charged with manslaughter if he or she caused a miscarriage in a fetus that had reached twenty one weeks.
In the episode Popular, Cragen says, "these kids are really getting on my nerves, which is probably why I don't have any," however in the Law & Order episode Bad Faith, in which he previously he previously starred, he mentioned that he had a fourteen-year-old child.
Interesting Bits:
Richard Belzer has played the character Detective John Munch on The X-Files, all four Law & Orders, The Beat and Homicide: Life on the Street.
In the episode Uncle, the following dialogue takes place:
  • Elliot Stabler: Do we need a search warrant for a cardboard box?
  • Dani Beck: Believe it or not, I think there's precedent.
The quote referred to a Law & Order episode, Asylum, where the search of a homeless man's "area" was thrown out in court as it was thought to be the suspects home and no warrant was available.
Diane Neal also played a woman who aided two other women in a man's rape in the Season Three episode Ridicule. She later joined the cast in Season Five.
