01x08: Stalked
Synopsis
An assistant district attorney is found raped and shot in the park and the case leads Detectives Benson and Stabler to possible suspects coming from the ADA's caseload. After the list of defenders comes to nothing, the detectives re-visit the suspects picked from a photo array by a witness in the area at the time of the crime. When it appears that the second suspect, Richard White, a local real estate agent, has a history of stalking women, Benson and Stabler believe they have a valid suspect, that is, until White's colleague seemingly abdicates his involvement. Further investigation, however, leads the detectives right back to White. After interrogating White's colleague again, she confesses that White had pushed her into the partnership and that she initially lied because feared for her life. The case then directs the detectives to White's mother who informs them that the suspect now has his sights set on a certain female NYPD detective.
